Espremulls cobla antiga was formed with musicians from different traditional music ensembles with the main purpose of working in the research, interpretation and diffusion of the music of old cobles, the predecessors of the current cobles de sardanes, one of the most popular traditional dance in Catalonia. Some members also were teachers of different instruments and many other areas of catalan folklore.

Their repertoire draws from both sources of oral tradition, popular music spread throughout the territory, parts taken from their own investigation and research group members and also new compositions, all of them arranged by the own group.

They have performed all over Catalonia and Valencia and also in Simancas, Chatelaillon Plage, San Esteban de Gormaz, etc ... in accompaniment of authorities, concerts, processions, street dances, dance groups, etc ...

The ensemble can be constituted in different formations depending on the functionality, the type of action needs or requirements.

The ensemble consists of (left to right): Josep Ma Orellana on trombone, David Morlà on the tarota, Albert Solé on the tarota, Carles Clavero on the sac de gemecs or catalan bagpipe, Robert Querol on the drum, Marc Riera on the dulcian and Pau Plana on the flabiol i tamborí.
